To All Graphic Artists,
Blissfest is inviting all artists to submit
designs to be used for the 28th annual Blissfest Music Festival. The
design selected will be used on the Blissfest T-Shirts as well as on posters and
flyers. The winner will receive $250 cash, a weekend pass to the festival and a
T-Shirt. The winning design will be the property of the Blissfest. Five runner
up entries will each receive one weekend pass to the festival. Entries must
be postmarked no later than March 1, 2008 and the winner will be notified by
March15, 2008. Design submissions will not be returned, so please submit a good
photocopy and keep the original. If we select your work, we will contact you to
secure the original and finalize details.
Submissions can be line drawings or complete
concepts with color separations. Computer design submissions should be original
(no clip art) and exportable as an .eps, .tif, .pdf, or .jpeg file. Color
separations should be done in CMYK (process color) format. Dimensions of the
design should be adaptable to required sizes, approximately 7.5" tall by
5.5" wide for the flyer to 9" x 9"square for the T-Shirt.
Generally, we can usually enlarge or reduced the design to meet our needs. The
word BLISSFEST should be prominent in the design as well as the year 2008 and
/or 28th Annual. Our T-Shirts and brochures are generally 4-5 color so include
color separation if you wish. Our graphic artist and screen printer will help
develop the winning entry in order to meet our specific color and design needs.
They will consult with the design winner as needed.
We are looking for designs that are
distinctive, imaginative and original that project the Blissfest theme. We like
to encourage all creative approaches from realism to free flowing whimsical
designs. The challenge for artists is to balance graphic sensibilities with
artistic fine art detail. The design can include music and or dance imagery such
as instruments, musicians and/or dancers as well as the essense of an outdoor
music campout. Keep in mind that the Blissfest features folk music as well as
innovative acoustic and roots music with a mission of cultural enrichment,
heritage and diversity. Some examples of past Blissfest logos can be seen

Just go to the festival page and follow links to the logo contest. If you have a
unique idea we will certainly consider it. New and innovative designs are
welcome. Please pass this letter and information on to other artists that may be
interested. Artists who have submitted entries in the past are welcome to enter
again. We have all previous entries on file and do reconsider them each year.
